‘Brother-sister-like chemistry’

The 2005 film Aashiq Banaya Aapne gave Tanushree Dutta and Emraan Hashmi widespread recognition in Bollywood. Their on-screen pairing was well received by audiences, while the film’s songs, especially the title track, became hugely popular.

The film also featured several bold and kissing scenes between the two, clips and memes from which continue to surface on social media. They later reunited for Good Boy Bad Boy.

Despite their romantic chemistry on screen, Tanushree Dutta has revealed that her equation with Emraan Hashmi in real life was completely different. In an interview with Filmy Gyaan, she said they never had an affair or any personal relationship and described their bond off-screen as being like that of a brother and sister. According to her, they were simply good friends who worked professionally on set.

Tanushree also opened up about filming kissing scenes. She explained that such scenes are largely about camera angles, lighting and getting the shot right. With the director, cameramen and crew present, actors remain focused on their performance and the technical aspects of the scene. She made it clear that there is no personal enjoyment involved in filming such intimate scenes.
