Hayagriva Madhava Temple, Hajo, Assam

Situated atop the scenic Monikut Hill in Hajo, near Guwahati, the sacred Hayagriva Madhava Temple is dedicated to Bhagwan Vishnu in His divine Hayagriva (horse-headed) form.

The present temple was built in 1583 by Koch King Raghudeva Narayan and is renowned for its beautiful ancient sculptures and spiritual significance. The temple is especially sacred to both Hindus and Buddhists, symbolising the eternal triumph of divine knowledge over ignorance and evil.
