Professor Ramesh Tendulkar, by launching the Professor Ramesh Tendulkar Memorial Fellowship on Teachers’ Day. The initiative will support one young doctor every year with a year-long opportunity to specialise in cleft and craniofacial care in Srinagar.
Remembering his father’s influence on his life, Tendulkar said Ramesh Tendulkar gave him the freedom to pursue cricket while teaching him the importance of character and integrity. He recalled his father’s advice: “Failure is okay, but cheating is not. Never take shortcuts.”
The fellowship, launched through the Sachin Tendulkar Foundation, aims to carry forward his father’s belief that education can create opportunities and that those opportunities become meaningful when used to serve others. The selected doctor will receive financial support for the programme and a certificate from the foundation after completing the fellowship.
