What to do for a minor nosebleed!

Knowing what to do during a minor nosebleed can make a stressful moment much easier.

Sit upright and lean slightly forward rather than tilting your head backward. Pinch the soft part of your nose firmly and continuously for about 10–15 minutes while breathing through your mouth.

Leaning forward helps prevent blood from running down the throat. Avoid repeatedly releasing your nose to check whether the bleeding has stopped before the full compression period is complete.

Seek medical attention if bleeding is heavy, follows a significant injury, causes breathing difficulty, or continues despite appropriate pressure.

People taking blood-thinning medication or experiencing frequent nosebleeds should also discuss them with a healthcare professional.
