Bangladesh has once again demanded the extradition of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina from India.
Information advisor to PM Tarique Rahman, Zahed Ur Rahman said in a weekly press briefing that Hasina does not need to return on her own, the government will arrest and bring her back.
He said she is a fugitive convicted with death sentence and her time for appeal in court is over, meaning she will be hanged upon return. He said if India wants to improve bilateral ties, it must first hand over Hasina.
He also objected to Hasina’s virtual press conferences and interviews to Indian media while staying in India, saying Dhaka has sent a formal protest note to Delhi
