Woman allegedly helps boyfriend plot Rs 41.70 lakh Jaipur ATM cash robbery!

An ATM robbery took place in Jaipur, involving ₹41.70 lakh. As the police investigation progressed, a boyfriend-girlfriend connection emerged in the case.

The girlfriend allegedly kept watch around the ATM and passed crucial information to her boyfriend. As soon as the cash arrived at the ATM, she made a phone call. Shortly afterwards, the robbers arrived on motorcycles, threatened the bank employees with weapons, looted ₹41.70 lakh and fled.

Police have now arrested a woman named Anshu in connection with the case and recovered ₹26.80 lakh from her. Her boyfriend, Mastram Meena, along with three other accused, is still absconding.

The case relates to Jaipur’s Ramnagariya area. On the morning of September 14, cash was scheduled to be deposited in a Bank of India ATM there. According to the police investigation, Mastram Meena was in contact with an employee associated with the bank. Police allege that through this contact, he learned that a large amount of cash was due to arrive at the ATM. This is where the robbery plan was allegedly drawn up.

According to police, Mastram also involved his girlfriend Anshu in the plan. Her role was to stay around the ATM and keep watch.

At around 10:30 am on September 14, bank employees arrived at the ATM carrying the cash. Police said Anshu was already present in the area. As soon as the employees arrived with the money, she immediately called her boyfriend and his associates. This meant the information that the cash had reached the ATM had reached the people who allegedly intended to steal it.

Shortly afterwards, the robbers arrived near the ATM on motorcycles. According to police, they threatened the bank employees at gunpoint before looting the ₹41.70 lakh brought to the ATM and fleeing the scene.

After the robbery, police launched an investigation. CCTV footage and other clues were examined. As the probe progressed, police began suspecting Anshu. She was subsequently identified and arrested.

According to police, the accused had allegedly planned not only the robbery but also arrangements to evade the police after the crime.

The investigation revealed that Anshu was sent to a car where one of her associates was waiting some distance away. The stolen money was then allegedly divided into different portions. One portion was hidden in a suitcase kept in Anshu’s room, while another accused allegedly took the remaining portion with him.

Police said Anshu’s clothes were also changed to help the accused evade police checkpoints.
