At the sacred Tiruvannamalai, Bhootha Narayana Perumal graces devotees in a majestic form, seated upon Sri Garuda.
A unique tradition is observed on the last Saturday of the Tamil month of Purattasi (September–October). A huge quantity—about one bag of rice—is cooked and spread before the shrine as an offering to the Lord, and the sacred Prasadam is later distributed to devotees. The quantity is especially large, reflecting the imposing form of the deity.
Special Tirumanjanam (sacred bath) is performed on Krishna Jayanthi, celebrating the birth of Shri Krishna, and also on Ekadashi, Tiruvonam Nakshatra days and full-moon days.
On Wednesdays, devotees offer Tulsi garlands to Sri Chakrathalwar, accompanied by sweet-pudding Nivedhanam.
