Three popular wellness practices!

These three popular wellness practices affect the body in very different ways.

Applying a cool compress to the face can temporarily reduce puffiness and provide a cooling, soothing sensation. Avoid holding ice directly against the skin for prolonged periods because excessive cold can irritate or injure the skin.

Facial steam provides warmth and moisture and may temporarily soften the outer skin and loosen surface oil or debris. However, steaming does not “open” pores, and excessively hot steam can cause irritation or burns.

Keep the temperature comfortable and avoid prolonged exposure.

Drinking enough water supports normal hydration and many essential body functions. Dehydration can contribute to symptoms such as thirst, dry mouth, dizziness and tiredness.

None of these practices is a miracle treatment for skin or general health. Healthy skin also depends on gentle skin care, sun protection, nutrition and other individual factors.

Simple habits work best when used safely.
