The temple stands as a beautiful blend of devotion, spiritual tradition, miraculous legends and unique architecture, preserving the sacred legacy of Sri Vadiraja Swamy.
According to tradition, the idol of Sri Trivikrama was brought from Uttara Badari in the Himalayas by Sri Bhutaraja. The sanctum is believed to have arrived in the form of a stone chariot. Legend says that Sri Bhutaraja used one of its wheels to defeat a demon on the way to Sode. Interestingly, the stone chariot structure housing the deity has only three wheels, making it a distinctive feature of the temple.
Another remarkable feature is the towering Garuda Kambha, or Garuda pillar, in front of the temple. According to tradition, the pillar could not be erected despite repeated attempts. Sri Vadiraja Swamy appeared in a dream to his successor, Sri Veda Vedya Thirtha, and instructed him to carve his image seated on a Hamsa (swan) on the pillar. Following this, the pillar was successfully installed.
