Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Friday hit out at the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) protest at Mumbai’s Shivaji Park.Activists of CJP and other civil society organisations staged a protest demanding removal of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar over alleged irregularities in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. Reacting to the protest, Fadnavis said:
“The entire matter has been exposed. Following the press conference held by the three Election Commissioners, their fake narrative has been busted. Yet, attempts are still being made to push this fake narrative. They will not succeed in this. “Heavy police deployment was seen at Shivaji Park ahead of the protest. CJP spokesperson Saurav Das called CEC Gyanesh Kumar a “traitor” and said this will be a big protest starting from Mumbai. Similar protests were also held in Delhi at Jantar Mantar by SFI, DYFI and opposition leaders.
