Lokesh Kanagaraj has clarified that the delay in Kaithi 2 was NOT due to any demand for a higher salary!
He explained that remuneration is decided based on market value and a film’s performance, not by arbitrary demands.
Kaithi 2 got delayed because of uncertainty over his availability after committing to other projects, leading Karthi and his team to give the reserved slot to another director.
Meanwhile, Lokesh chose to honour his long-standing commitment with Mythri Movie Makers and also move forward with his discussions with Allu Arjun, which had been ongoing for 3–4 years.
Now, he is set to utilise this gap for these long-awaited projects!
