Delhi Court’s big remark on Jantar Mantar protest. 17 students and freelance journalists arrested for protesting against CEC Gyanesh Kumar have been granted bail by Judicial Magistrate Animesh Kumar.
Court said: “Peaceful protest is everyone’s right, but attacking police personnel on duty under the garb of peaceful protest is a matter of serious concern. “Police had sought 2-week judicial custody alleging unlawful assembly, obstruction, misbehaviour and smashing bus windows.
Court noted accused are young, not habitual offenders and rejected custody plea. Protest was demanding FIR against a cop accused of molesting a female journalist during SIR protest.
