Cockroach Janta Party founder Abhijeet Dipke has accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of imposing an “unofficial emergency” after CJP leaders Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka were sent to five-day judicial custody for allegedly trespassing into Jantar Mantar in Delhi. The two were detained after allegedly breaching barricades and raising slogans demanding Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar’s resignation
Dipke questioned what offence the leaders had committed by waving the national flag and said he would continue to uphold the Constitution and Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar’s ideals. He also said the CJP was an independent pressure group, while noting that its campaign and the INDIA bloc’s protest shared the same cause.
