Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal announced that the first tranche of the proposed India-US bilateral trade agreement has been finalized and has advanced to the legal drafting stage. Speaking at the SRCC Centenary Conclave in New Delhi, Goyal expressed optimism that the drafting process will wrap up soon and the pact will be operationalized once India secures a distinct competitive edge over peer economies.
Emphasizing that trade relations between the two nations remain robust, Goyal noted that global dynamics are actively considered to safeguard Indian exporters. The progress marks a key milestone in ongoing economic negotiations between India and the United States.
