Tiger Shroff Case: Why can’t Mumbai Police take Lawrence Bishnoi into Custody!

Mumbai Police probing Oct 19 firing at actor Tiger Shroff’s car in Juhu face same wall as in Salman Khan house firing, Baba Siddique murder and Rohit Shetty house attack – cannot get physical custody of Lawrence Bishnoi gang.

Lawrence Bishnoi lodged in Sabarmati Central Jail, Gujarat, brother Anmol Bishnoi in Tihar Jail, Delhi. Both named as wanted accused in Mumbai chargesheets but never produced in city courts.

Hurdle is Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) order under Sec 268 CrPC issued Aug 2023 barring Lawrence’s removal from jail for any purpose citing public order and risk of violence during transport, now renewed annually under Sec 303 of BNSS which replaced CrPC. Similar order for Anmol on Dec 5, 2025 after deportation from US in Nov 2025.

Production warrants and custodial interrogation requests not entertained. Agencies can only question via video link or inside jail premises with court permission. In 2024 crime branch sought MHA nod for Salman Khan case, again for Siddique murder, denied. Only Rajasthan Police questioned him inside Ahmedabad jail.

Three shooters arrested from Pune-Jaipur train in Kota in Tiger Shroff case, being probed for Bishnoi link via social media claim. MHA order does not grant immunity but regulates movement, similar protection earlier given to Chhota Rajan in Tihar since 2015 over Dawood threat.
