Rajasthan Police have recovered a belt pouch containing an Israeli tourist’s passport, driving licence, four credit cards, electronic gadgets, ₹20,000 in cash and other important documents within days of it going missing.
The belongings were handed back to the tourist on Thursday after a coordinated investigation by Malpura Police and the District Special Team (DST).
The tourist, Mosharof Noam, was travelling with friends on a motorcycle from Pushkar to Ranthambore for a wildlife safari on October 19 when she realised that the belt pouch she had been wearing around her waist was missing.
Despite searching extensively along the route, she could not find it. She and her companions subsequently approached Malpura Police Station and lodged a complaint.
Police registered the complaint and launched an investigation under the supervision of Tonk Superintendent of Police Roshan Meena. A special team was formed under Malpura Station House Officer Chainaram Beda to trace the missing belongings.
Investigators used technical and human intelligence, reviewing CCTV footage from locations along the suspected route and collecting information from local sources.
The team eventually received a lead suggesting that the pouch could be in Mumana village, which falls under the jurisdiction of Peeplu Police Station in Tonk district. During the probe, police identified and questioned seven people who had travelled between Malpura and Mumana on October 19.
The investigation led to the recovery of the entire pouch, including the tourist’s passport, driving licence, four credit cards, electronic gadgets, ₹20,000 in cash and other essential documents.
Police contacted Noam and returned all her belongings on Thursday. Relieved by the recovery, she thanked Rajasthan Police for its prompt action and assistance. She also shared a video expressing her gratitude.
Assistant Sub-Inspector Narayan Lal Sharma and Head Constable Ramraj of DST Malpura played key roles in the operation.
The recovery highlights Rajasthan Police’s efforts to assist foreign tourists through timely intervention, coordinated investigations and professional service.
