Middle East War does not serve world’s interest BRICS should oppose Sovereignty Violations

At the 18th BRICS Summit in New Delhi, Chinese President Xi Jinping said the ongoing war in the Middle East and Gulf region “does not serve the common interests of the international community” and has caused serious losses.

Xi urged BRICS nations to “oppose violations of other countries’ sovereignty and interference in their internal affairs” and work towards peace.

His remarks come amid ongoing US-Iran tensions and as Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian also attends the summit.On trade, Xi said BRICS should support the WTO-led multilateral trading system and reject all forms of protectionism.

He also announced that China will take over the BRICS presidency next year. This is Xi’s first visit to India in seven years.
