Union Home Minister Amit Shah marked Hindi Diwas 2026 by highlighting Hindi’s role in connecting people across India’s diverse linguistic landscape.
He said India’s many languages are its strength and Hindi should not be seen as competing with them.
Speaking at the Hindi Diwas celebrations, Shah stressed the importance of promoting Indian languages while strengthening Hindi as a link language. He also highlighted efforts to expand Hindi’s role in governance, technology and communication.
