West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari on Wednesday announced that 12.59 lakh students will receive bicycles during the current academic session under the rebranded ‘Sarathi’ scheme, formerly known as ‘Sabuj Sathi’.
The state government has allocated ₹300 crore for the initiative. Adhikari also said that no funds will be allocated under the scheme for smartphones or tablets.
