Congress leader and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday renewed his challenge to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for a face-to-face debate. Addressing Congress’s ‘Insaaf Rally’ in Sangrur, Punjab, he claimed he could prove within five minutes that the PM is a ‘desh-drohi’ and is being controlled by US President Donald Trump.Gandhi said PM Modi can choose anyone as judge and decide the venue.
He said, “Make Mohan Bhagwat the judge if you want, make Adani sit as judge, it doesn’t matter.”He alleged that PM Modi signed the US trade deal in 5 minutes under Trump’s threat, without informing the Cabinet or any bureaucrat, and handed over India’s farmers, small and medium industries, and data to Trump.He also said, “You mute my mic in Parliament.
You don’t let me speak in Parliament.”Responding to this, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said demanding answers also means being willing to hear the government’s response. She accused Congress of walking out of Parliament during discussions and said the mock Parliament exercise was more a “mockery of Parliament.”
