“You Dialled Wrong Number, Go Protest”: CJI Surya Kant to Petitioner on SC/ST Quota Rotation

The Supreme Court on Tuesday dismissed a plea seeking rotation of SC and ST reserved constituencies. The court said the matter falls within the domain of the legislature, not the judiciary.

Chief Justice of India Surya Kant, in a witty remark, told the petitioner, “You’re dialling the wrong number. This is the good season for protests and naarebaazi. You can also do that.” He advised the petitioner to take up the issue with lawmakers instead of the court.
