Ashwinder Kaur, who works as the country head of an IT company in Dubai, has travelled from Dubai to Jabalpur in search of her husband, Sunil Thakur. She alleges that after returning to India, her husband distanced himself from her, stopped communicating with her, and that her in-laws are now refusing to return her dowry, cash and jewellery.
A case has been registered at the Gohalpur police station in Jabalpur in connection with the matter.
The couple had been in a live-in relationship for around six years before getting married on February 23, 2025, at a gurdwara in Jabalpur’s Civic Centre in the presence of their family members.
