Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple, Karnataka

Adi Ranga — where the sacred journey of the Pancha Ranga Kshetras begins.
On the sacred island of the Kaveri River stands the ancient Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple, a thousand-year-old Vaishnavite shrine and one of the Pancha Ranga Kshetras — the five sacred temples dedicated to Bhagwan Ranganatha along the Kaveri.
Srirangapatna is known as Adi Ranga — the First Ranga.
Here, Bhagwan Vishnu is worshipped in His majestic reclining form, resting upon the seven-headed Adishesha.
With layers of Vijayanagara, Hoysala and Wodeyar architectural influences, this temple beautifully reflects the spiritual and historical heritage of Karnataka.
