Instagram Influencer Flaunts Gold & Cash in Reels – Loses Rs 1 Crore in burglary!
A social media influencer from Tamil Nadu’s Kanyakumari district fell victim to a massive burglary after thieves allegedly tracked her Instagram reels showcasing gold ornaments, currency notes, and real-time travel updates.
YouTube and Instagram creator Madhumitha, who resides in Thamathukonam near Nagercoil with her family, lost 120 sovereigns of gold, diamond jewelry, and cash worth nearly ₹1 crore while she was away shopping.
Investigating officers suspect the burglars monitored her social media activity, where she routinely posted videos showing gold stored at home, cash spread across mattresses, and live location updates. The intruders broke into the house from the rear door and forced open a bedroom wardrobe. Kanyakumari Police have formed five special teams to track down the suspects involved in the targeted heist.
