How much Sleep you need by Age?

Sleep needs change throughout life, and younger children generally need considerably more sleep than adults.
Newborns and infants spend much of the day sleeping, while recommended sleep duration gradually decreases through childhood and adolescence.
For adults, major sleep guidelines generally recommend at least 7 hours per night, with many adults doing well around 7–9 hours. Individual needs can vary.
It’s also important to remember that sleep quality matters—not just the number of hours.
If you regularly get enough time in bed but still wake up exhausted, struggle with excessive daytime sleepiness, or have persistent sleep problems, consider discussing it with a healthcare professional.
