Putin to visit India again in 9 months

The stage is set for the 18th BRICS summit in Delhi from September 12-13. Russian President Vladimir Putin will attend. Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov confirmed that Putin will hold bilateral talks with PM Narendra Modi on September 11, a day before the summit, calling India Russia’s top strategic partner.

The biggest highlight will be defence, with Russia officially offering its 5th generation stealth fighter Su-57 to India. The jet is known for its stealth tech, ability to evade radar, air-to-air and air-to-ground precision strikes, and advanced sensors.

Peskov also said trade is largely happening in national currencies. Talks will focus on new opportunities for Indian companies in Russia, direct supply of Russian products to India, and strengthening transport corridors and logistics.
