Ranchhod Dham temple, Uttar Pradesh

One of the rarest form of Shri Krishna.

Ranchhod Dham is a revered temple dedicated to Shri Krishna in his Ranchhod (Ranchhodrai) form. The name “Ranchhod” means “the one who left the battlefield,” referring to the episode when Shri Krishna strategically withdrew from Mathura to protect his people and later established the city of Dwarka.

In Vaishnava tradition, this is seen as a symbol of wisdom and compassion, not cowardice.

The temple attracts devotees from Bundelkhand and nearby regions, especially on Janmashtami, Ekadashi, and other Krishna festivals, when special prayers and devotional singing are held.
