India’s Sarvesh Kushare claimed silver in the men’s high jump at the Asian Games 2026, clearing 2.25m after a tense battle for gold. He sailed through 2.10m to 2.22m without trouble before missing his first attempt at 2.25m, then cleared it on his second try to stay in medal contention.
Chinese Taipei’s Chao Hsuan-Fu took gold by clearing 2.25m on his opening attempt, while South Korea’s Sanghyeok Woo settled for bronze with 2.22m. The medal follows Kushare’s silver at the 2026 Commonwealth Games and improves on his fourth-place finish at the 2022 Asian Games. He had earlier set a national record of 2.31m this season. India also won two more medals on the day, with Ancy Sojan taking long jump silver and Parul Chaudhary bronze in the 3000m steeplechase.
