Pune coaching trip turns tragic as eight Class 11 and 12 Students drown at Diveagar beach in Raigad

A coaching institute picnic turned into tragedy in Maharashtra’s Raigad district as eight Class 11 and 12 students drowned at Diveagar beach. The deceased were part of a 48-member group—comprising 42 students and six teachers from Winners Academy in Alandi, Pune—who had travelled to the coastal town for an excursion.

According to authorities, the victims entered the sea to swim and were swept away by strong currents after misjudging the water depth. Local residents, water sports personnel, and police immediately launched a search operation and recovered all eight bodies.
