Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke reacted sarcastically to the planned burning of a 30-foot-tall cockroach effigy alongside the traditional effigies of Ravana, Kumbhakarna and Meghnad during Dussehra celebrations in Delhi’s Pitampura. Taking a dig at the organisers, Dipke said, “Thank you for the free publicity.”
The Shri Keshav Ramlila Committee said the cockroach effigy symbolises filth and unhygienic conditions, aiming to promote cleanliness under the Swachh Bharat and Swachh Delhi campaigns. Committee president and BJP MLA Ashok Goel denied that the move was politically motivated.
