Sri Lakshmi Narasimha swami temple, Avalabetta Chikkaballapur, Karnataka

The Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple in Avalabetta, Chikkaballapur, is a revered, 1,000-year-old cave shrine nestled amidst a beautiful hilltop.
Historically known as Dhenugiri (Cow Hill), mythology says that during the Samudra Manthan (churning of the ocean), the divine cow Kamadhenu landed on this hillock. Locals still point out rock markings believed to be footprints left by the sacred cow.
A unique, simpler cave temple carved into the natural rock face. Legend states that Lord Narasimha married Goddess Chunchalakshmi at this very site.
Situated further up the hill, requiring an additional climb of roughly 150 steps from the cave temple. It is highly unusual for featuring two idols of Goddess Lakshmi facing each other.
From the vehicle parking base, visitors have an easy-to-moderate 1.5 to 2 km walk along a paved cement road ramp up the hill. To reach the actual cave temple complex from the ramp’s end, you must ascend approximately 205 stone steps. It is accessible for beginners, though the stairs can feel a bit steep for the elderly.
