Mamata Banerjee joined the INDIA bloc’s protest march in Delhi on Monday against the Election Commission of India (ECI). The opposition leaders are demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar over alleged irregularities in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.
Speaking about the protest, Banerjee said, “We are demanding justice for the sake of humanity.” The INDIA bloc has raised concerns over the voter-list revision process, while the BJP has accused the opposition of politicising the issue.
