The Uttarakhand government has imposed a statewide ban for one year on gutkha, pan masala and other food products containing tobacco or nicotine. Food Safety Commissioner Vinay Shankar Pandey issued the order on October 13.
The ban has come into effect immediately and will remain in force until October 13, 2027. It prohibits the manufacture, storage, distribution and sale of these products across the state.
