Walking Boosts Brain Health!

A simple daily walk can benefit more than your body it can support your brain, too!

Regular physical activity increases blood flow throughout the body, including the brain. Over time, exercise can support memory, attention, mood and overall cognitive health. Walking may also help reduce stress and contribute to better sleep, although results vary from person to person.

You do not need to begin with long or intense workouts. Start with a comfortable 10–15-minute walk and gradually increase the duration as your fitness improves. A brisk pace is useful if it allows you to breathe faster while still being able to talk.

For adults, a common goal is at least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity activity each week, adjusted to individual abilities and health needs.
