Abdullah questioned why some political gatherings are allowed while others face restrictions, arguing that peaceful protests should be treated equally.
The chief minister also criticised the Centre over the delay in restoring statehood to Jammu and Kashmir. The National Conference has intensified its campaign for statehood, saying the demand remains a key political priority.
The issue has gained renewed focus as political parties step up activities across the Union Territory. The BJP, meanwhile, has organised protests against the Omar Abdullah-led government, adding to the ongoing political confrontation in the region.
