Vijay Mallya has once again questioned the ‘fugitive’ tag attached to him. In a social media post, he claimed that banks have already recovered an amount far greater than the debt attributed to him.
According to Mallya, the Bombay High Court had stated that he owed ₹6,203 crore, while ₹14,131.60 crore had been recovered by 2021. Mallya questioned when the remaining amount would be returned to him if more money had been recovered than the debt owed.
He also questioned why he is still referred to as a fraudster in the media.
