How to Feed your Baby!

Starting solid foods is a big milestone for your baby!

Most babies are ready to begin complementary foods at around 6 months, when they can sit with support, control their head and neck, and show interest in food.

Start with soft, appropriately textured foods and gradually introduce thicker, mashed and finger foods as your baby’s eating skills develop.

Texture progression should follow your baby’s development rather than a strict month-by-month schedule.

Continue breast milk or infant formula while introducing a variety of nutritious foods, including iron-rich options. Always prepare foods in shapes and textures that reduce choking risk and supervise your baby while eating.

Every baby develops differently, so speak with your pediatrician if you’re unsure when or how to start solids.
