After Retina Match, Aadhar Update becomes impossible for Twin Sisters in Rampur!

A ‘rarest of the rare’ case from UP’s Rampur left UIDAI officials shocked. Twin sisters Khizra and Tuba Zubair, Class 10 students of St. Mary’s School, have identical retina and fingerprints.Their Aadhaar update was failing due to duplication – when one got updated, the other’s application got rejected as duplicate.
Their Class 10 board registration was stuck. The family approached DM Ajay Kumar Dwivedi after suspecting the issue when one’s face unlocked the other’s phone face-lock.
Rampur DM Ajay Kumar Dwivedi, explained that as children, their Aadhaar was made using parents’ ID, but for Class 10 board exam, biometric update was mandatory. When the first sister’s biometrics were updated, the second’s fingerprints and iris scan matched the first record, triggering UIDAI’s duplication error. Taking the matter seriously, DM personally contacted UIDAI’s Delhi head office, which then coordinated with Lucknow regional office. A special arrangement was made to bypass the auto-duplication filter and manually verify both girls as separate individuals.
After 4-5 months of continuous efforts and coordination between district administration and UIDAI, both Aadhaars were successfully updated, clearing their board exam registration hurdle.
