Star Indian batter KL Rahul put on a masterclass in middle-order batting, smashing a blistering 129* off 87 balls against the West Indies in the 3rd ODI in New Chandigarh. Rescuing India from early setbacks, Rahul brought up his 9th ODI century—his fastest in the format off just 80 balls—to help the hosts post a formidable 351/7.
With this knockout performance, Rahul joined MS Dhoni with 4 centuries as an Indian No. 5 batter (behind Yuvraj Singh’s 7) while surpassing Yuvraj’s long-standing record for the highest individual ODI score by an Indian No. 5 against the West Indies.
