Rashmika Mandanna Pledges Year-Long Food Support

Rashmika Mandanna has announced Project Annapurna, an initiative promising essential food support for 400 families over a year.
The programme covers eight locations across South India: Hyderabad, Mahabubnagar, Anantapur, Bengaluru, Kochi, Chennai, Kodagu and Vijayawada. Its focus is on supplying groceries to families in need.
The reported food kits contain 75 kg of rice, 10 kg of whole wheat atta, 15 kg of mixed pulses and 10 litres of cooking oil. Other essentials include ragi, spices and tea. These are provisions for households to prepare meals, rather than a distribution of cooked food.
Sharing the initiative, Rashmika connected it with Jayamma, the character she plays in Ranabaali alongside Vijay Deverakonda. She explained that helping others is something she identifies with personally and sees reflected in the character.
She also expressed her intention to continue such efforts in response to the love and support she receives. The announcement has drawn appreciation from fans for extending that sentiment into a programme centred on everyday household needs.
The commitment is significant because food expenses recur. A pledge stretching across a year can offer families a longer period of support than a single distribution, provided the announced supplies reach them as planned.
The announcement establishes the intended scale and duration of the programme. It should be described as a pledge of support, rather than evidence that every delivery for the year has already been completed.
